Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has officially opened An Post’s new headquarters and to mark the move, Ireland’s postal service is giving everyone in the country a free digital stamp all day today.

An Post is headed to the recently-constructed EXO building on the north quay of the Liffey, where it says that "the postal service of the future will be created."

The move marks the next phase of An Post’s business transformation and its digital development at the centre of Ireland’s global e-commerce trade, logistics and financial services.

By downloading the An Post App, anyone can avail of one free digital stamp today for delivery of a regular letter within the Republic of Ireland, to be used immediately or within 31 days, instead of spending the usual price of €2.

Six floors of the landmark EXO building are now occupied by 900 employees comprising specialists and support staff working in Digital, Technology, Finance, Innovation, Product Development, Marketing, Financial Services, Sales, HR, Customer Support, Legal and Communications, all supporting An Post’s Mails & Parcels and Retail businesses and its corporate centre.

Wishing all the An Post HQ employees well in their new workplace, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said: "Leaving the GPO is a significant moment in An Post’s history, some might even say the ‘end of an era’. It’s also the beginning of a new one.

"It is fitting that An Post has a new home in a truly ground-breaking building, in addition to its impressive sustainability credentials, the EXO building is the tallest in Dublin, and also unique in its award-winning architectural design, maximising the use of space, and offering unrivalled panoramic views of Dublin."

David McRedmond, Chief Executive of An Post said: "This is an inspiring new workplace designed for how we work now and how our ways of working will evolve.

"It’s where our people will create the future and continue An Post’s evolution as a world leader in e-commerce logistics and trusted financial services, with Sustainability at our heart, always working for the greater good."
